New flights to cities of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area are being added to the timetable of Koltsovo airport (affiliated with the Airports of Regions holding). Starting on 2 March 2019, Utair will perform four flights a week to Nizhnevartovsk. The departure from Yekaterinburg is scheduled for 02:15 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; from Nizhnevartovsk – for 22:30 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The traveling time will be less than 3 hours. The number of flights to Khanty-Mansiysk will increase from two to three starting on 16 February 2019, when the Saturday flight has been added to the flights on Tuesday and Thursday. Utair flights depart from the Urals capital at 13:35 and from the capital of KMAA they depart at 10:30. The traveling time is two hours. Flights on both routes will be operated by ATR-72-500 jets seating 70 passengers.
Right now flights from Yekaterinburg to Nizhnevartovsk are not performed, although in 2018 RusLine Airlines operated on this route. Nizhnevartovsk and Khanty-Mansiysk are popular regional destinations. In 2018 Koltsovo provided services for 7,195 and 5,196 passengers on these routes, respectively.
Today the Yekaterinburg air hub is one of the leaders by the number of domestic flights: passengers have direct access to 41 cities of Russia from Koltsovo. The TOP-5 most popular regional destinations (excluding Moscow, St. Petersburg and Black Sea resorts) in 2018 were Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Blagoveshchensk, Rostov and Samara.
