Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has switched to the spring-summer timetable. Overall flights to all destinations have currently been planned from Yekaterinburg, of which half are international ones.
The intensity of flights traditionally increases during the summer navigation. Thus up to 11 departures to Black Sea resorts (Sochi, Simferopol, Anapa, Gelendzhik) have been scheduled by five airlines as well as up to five flights a week to Mineralnye Vody. We can also see a growing number of flights on inland regional routes – to Samara, Kazan, Krasnodar, Novy Urengoy, Nizhnevartovsk, and other destinations.
Among the international destinations Turkey is the most popular one, with up to 12 daily flights to the Turkish resort towns of Antalya, Alania (Gazipasha), Bodrum, Dalaman and Istanbul scheduled by twelve airlines. The number of flights to the near-abroad recreational destinations of Batumi, Tbilisi and Baku has also increased substantially in the summer timetable of Koltsovo.
The majority of key destinations are still on the list of tourist routes abroad, quite traditional for the summer season. Besides Turkey and Georgia, Koltsovo passengers can also buy direct flights to Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, France, Czech Republic, Tunisia, UAE, China, Armenia, Israel, Thailand, Sri Lanka and many destinations.
Russia Airlines has announced jumbo-sized jets Boeing 747 seating up to 522 travelers for performing flights to three destinations: Antalya, Larnaka and Sochi.
