Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) confirmed its readiness to operate in the spring-summer season. Despite the marked reduction of the passenger traffic in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the training of all personnel was carried out as planned. All key services of the airport confirm their readiness for summer navigation, which includes personnel training, preparation of buildings and structures, special vehicles, MEP systems, lighting navigational aids.
Thus in the run-up to the spring-summer season the airfield service of Koltsovo is engaged in flood management activities as well as the airfield examination and selective repair of turf sections. In addition, seasonal equipment maintenance is performed and the essential stock of materials for repair works is being created. At the present time they are renewing the marking and doing routine repair of the paved runway.
Koltsovo’s maintenance and special transport service is preparing about 193 custom vehicles and over 350 high-lift mechanization devices for the summer season. Before the opening of navigation they train the airport personnel and employees of third-party organizations in the specifics of operations during the spring-summer season.
The ground handling service personnel of the Yekaterinburg airport are briefed as to the specifics of custom vehicles operation and ground handling services during the spring-summer season, traffic rules for custom vehicles, fire safety measures and fundamentals of aircraft safety. During this period they check the serviceability of custom vehicles and communication devices as well as the completion of aircraft’s parking positions with ground handling services and fire extinguishers.
The entire staff of the aircraft readiness management and planning centre at Koltsovo airport passes requalification, being reintroduced to documents providing for the regularity of flights. The spring-summer timetable is drawn and the janitorial condition of service buildings is inspected.
The readiness of Koltsovo for spring-summer navigation was confirmed by a special commission. The inspection resulted in recognizing the airport readiness status as complying with relevant regulatory documents.
